Hi.. I’m KENNY FUNK, Head Honcho of Coffee Cup Design Studio.. I’ve been into graphic arts since 1965, when my Kindergarten painting was proudly displayed at the Bloomingdale's student art show.. I grew up in Bayside, NY, where a High School internship in the Art Department of Seventeen Magazine led to an interest in editorial design, layout, and typography.. In College at SUNY Binghamton, I studied Art and Cinema and wrote comic strips for Pipe Dream, the school newspaper.. After graduating, I worked at tons of national trade and consumer magazines including: 1,001 Home Ideas, Golf Illustrated, Spin, Circus and OUI.. In 1991, the dawn of the desktop publishing era, I started my own business.. I named it Coffee Cup Design Studio, after Lesley Buck's iconic NYC paper cup, “The Anthora”.. I established relationships with local businesses who needed quality graphic design and printing at reasonable rates.. For years, I acted as the outside art department of New York Magazine.. Their sales staff referred me to many advertisers, as you can see on my extensive client list.. Today, I maintain a following of customers who rely on me to deliver professional artwork to printers and publications.. My work has been featured in Graphic Design USA and the Creativity Annual..
